Christ's Favorite Scripture

If Jesus Christ had a favorite scripture, what do you think it would be?

If he had a favorite scripture, He would probably want us to review it often.

He would want us to think deeply about its meaning.

He would want us to study it and understand how it should apply to our life.

Perhaps he would have it printed in two different books of scripture, so that we could easily find it.

Well, I think he does have such a scripture.  And actually it is not just one verse, but two closely related verses of scripture.

And the trick to finding those verses is to remember that:

Those verses are found in Moroni chapters 4 and 5 and D&C section 20.

Those verses are as follows:

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it, that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him and keep his commandments which he has given them; that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this wine to the souls of all those who drink of it, that they may do it in remembrance of the blood of thy Son, which was shed for them; that they may witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they do always remember him, that they may have his Spirit to be with them. Amen.

As recovering addicts, we need to make sure we actively work towards being worthy to partake of the sacrament and that we really do "remember Him" during the sacrament and throughout the week!
