Friendship among Brothers

Some people would think I was out of my mind if I said to them, “Hey I want to go to a 12 Step Meeting to make new friends.”  But you know what?  That is exactly what happens.

Even though I may only see them once a week, I really consider those in the program as close friends. I think I really understand them and they understand me—in ways that most people will never understand.

It has been said before that the honesty and the Spirit of the Lord felt in those meetings can rarely be felt anywhere else. Our priesthood quorums could learn a lot from these meetings.

To all those in my particular group, you are my heroes! I have learned much from you and hope to continue to learn from you. You have wisdom beyond your years.

As one friend said to me recently, “It’s too bad we can’t meet every day.” -Amen
